Pundi X, a point-of-sale (POS) solution provider based on blockchain to allow the physical store to conduct multi-cryptocurrency transactions, unveiled today a new branch of XPOS smart point-of-sale terminal, running exclusively on the NEM blockchain. This device will help both physical retailers and consumers to make fiat or cryptocurrency transactions faster and easier. Pundi X will supply 20,000 units of XPOS devices.

The new XPOS device will be connected to the blockchain via XPlugins, the Pundi X platform API that allows blockchain developers to connect to digital wallets and create smart contract requests. The device will provide faster transactions in physical stores.

Users will be able to conduct multiple NEM-based cryptocurrency transactions via XPOS point-of-sale terminals. The tokens confirmed to be listed on this new  device are XEM, PXSXEM and XAR. There will be more XEM Mosaic tokens to list later.

XEM is the fifteenth largest cryptocurrency in the world, according to coinmarketcap, with a market capitalization of US $ 2.1 billion. NEM’s technology is currently employed by a variety of financial institutions and industries. Considering the demand and the volume of exchanges, XEM is also one of the most popular altcoins in Japan. The XPOS terminal will use the NEM blockchain for private and public chains.

“NEM and Pundi X are working together to solve one of the biggest problems facing all blockchain developers and their users, making it accessible to traditional consumers in their daily lives,” commented Lon Wong, former president of the NEM.io Foundation. “For the first time, NEM-based tokens will come to the front of the store for mainstream adoption.”

“When consumers make blockchain-based transactions, the speed is crucial to a better user experience,” said Zac Cheah, CEO of Pundi X. “That’s why we started NEM private chain integration into our devices pilot xpos. Firstly, since this platform is growing, it is a natural step for us to launch aterminal by integrating XEM for both the public and private chains to meet market demand. ”

Pundi X will produce 20,000 units of POS NEM devices and deliver them to the Foundation and their partners.
