CTO of Block.one, Daniel Larimer recently announced about the release of EOSIO Dawn 4.0 which is the latest version of the architecture of EOSIO platform for decentralized applications (DApps) which will happen in June. The information was passed by Larimer’s Medium post which reported that the recent update includes a list of changes in the preparation for the full launch of EOSIO.
Block.one which is an open source software publisher, currently works on EOSIO. This is a decentralized operating system which is made for industrial-scale applications. According to Coinmarketcap, ERC20 Token, EOS which operates the EOSIO platform is the fifth largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization.
According to the announcement, the new 4.0 update includes a number of new features and guidelines. The new version will manly focus on inter blockchain communication. Block.one representative reported that the company believes that this communication is critical for blockchains to scale up for large number of users.
Larimer also reported that the Dawn 4.0’s inter blockchain communication is full of opportunities to allow applications which run on different blockchains to purchase the available RAM from each other via multiple chains which have independent memory regions as they run on independent hardware. In addition, it was predicted that many applications are expected to prefer the many-chain approach to scaling due to the system having lower overall costs and being able to scale faster.
The main objective of the new version is to encourage users to distribute their unused RAM and hence let supply and demand manage the price. EOSIO also expects that RAM will have an increased demand as a result and the price will automatically increase. In addition to inter blockchain communication, Block.one also informed that they have been also focusing on clean-up and stability of the EOSIO software.
